Günsu Erdem Turan
Günsu Semra Erdem Turan was born in 1992 in Ankara. She started her music education Erkin Onay with violin in the Preparatory School of Faculty of Music and Performing Arts of Bilkent University in Ankara. In 2006, she was accepted viola class of Cavid Cafer. In 2008, she participated in the Bilkent Youth Symphony Orchestra. In 2009, 2011 and 2012, she took place in Turkish-Greek Youth Orchestra and attended concerts and festivals in Greece and Turkey. In 2011, in the conducting of Orhun Orhon, she participated in the Ankara Youth Symphony Orchestra and became a member of Agso Quartet. In the same year, she took place as a principal violist in the National Youth Symphony Orchestra and performed with Gürer Aykal and Fazıl Say. In 2012, she attended to festival in France with National Youth Symphony Orchestra and Orhun Orhon. In 2013 and 2017 she was accepted to Mediterranean Youth Symphony Orchestra and studied with London Symphony Orchestra members. In 2013, she continued her viola education as an exchange student in Roma, in the Santa Cecilia Conservatory with Luca Sanzo. In 2014, she graduated from Music and Performing Arts of Bilkent University. In the same year, she participated in Beethoven Music Festival in Bonn and took place both chamber music and orchestra concerts. She gave concerts with Bilkent Symphony Orchestra, Presidental Symphony Orchestra, Cukurova State Symphony Orchestra, Bursa State Symphony Orchestra and Philarmonic Orchestra of Antalya as a guest artist. In 2019 she completed her master degree with Professor Bige Bediz Kınıklı in the Ankara State Conservatory of Hacettepe University.
In these years, she participated in viola masterclasses of Siegfried Fürhlinger, Nauko Shimizu, Alexander Zemstov, Atilla Aldemir and chamber music masterclass of New Hellenic Quartet as an active participant. As a member of the mentioned orchestras, she worked with conductors and musicians like Gürer Aykal, Fazlı Orhun Orhon, Pablo Heras-Casado, Antonio Pirolli, German Clavijo, Vladimir Fedoseyev, Gianandrea Noseda, Francesco Pasqualetti, Giuseppe Lanzetta, Alessandro Cedrone, Cem’i Can Deliorman, Can Okan, Rengim Gökmen, Elşad Bagirov, Ferenc Gabor, Adrien Perruchon, İbrahim Yazıcı, Işın Metin, Louis Babin and Anastasios Symenidos.
In 2021, she was accepted in proficiency in art degree in Ankara Music and Fine Arts Faculty as a student of Associate Professor Barış Kerem Bahar. Since 2019, she is a member of the Orchestra Academic Başkent.
